Students display their talent at the MIT WPU Innovation Hackathon

Pune (Voice News Service): In an effort to encourage student entrepreneurs and provide them a platform where they can convert their bright ideas into innovation, the Innovation Hackathon organised at MIT WPU recently received a tremendous response from all streams in the University. The competition was held in five categories  i.e. Ideathon, Formathon, Entrepreneurial, Made in MIT WPU and Workathon, students had to come out with their own ideas and present it a tangible form.

Prof. Dr. Vishwanath Karad, President MIT WPU, presided over the valedictory function. Mr. Anurag Garg, Managing Director & Country Head India, Vitesco TechnologiesPune, Mr. Sanjeev Annigeri, Vice President, Head R&D, NPD and Service, Tata Hendrickson Suspension Pvt Ltd, Pune, Mr. Asheesh Pandey, Executive Director, Bank of Maharashtra, Pune, Mr. Sanjeev Annigeri, Vice President, Head R&D, NPD and Service, Tata Hendrickson Suspension Pvt Ltd, Mr. Ajay Todkar,  Director BizDev- US & Europe and Harbinger Systems, Pune, Dr. Kishanprasad Gunale, Coordinator Hackathon, MIT World Peace University, Pune ,Prof.Dr. Milind Pande, Pro-Vice Chancellor MIT WPU, Dr. Tapan Panda, Registrar, Dr. Sanjay Kamtekar, Chief Academic Officer, MITWPU, Pune Dr Krishna Warhade, Co-Convener, HackMITWPU 2023, Pune,  Ganesh Pokle, Dr. Krishna Varhade, Dr. Krishna Prasad Gunale were present on the occasion.

Prof. Dr. Vishwanath Karad said today’s youngsters have the acumen, skill and talent and hackathon is the best platform to express these. Through these programs, some of you may emerge as most talented and skillful people who can show real merit at global level.  Addressing the challenges and developing a holistic peace loving society should be the ultimate goal and for this India has the role to play.

Prof.Dr Milind Pande said that this is the seventh successive edition of hackathon. Dr. Karad was the innovator of his times and ensured maximum importance was given to research. The seeds which were sown at that time four decade ago is now bearing fruits with research,innovation, start-up culture blooming  apart from academic excellence. Another part of his vision is to have value based learning to have peace loving society. Our aim is that such competitions should result in at five to six startups coming out every year from MIT WPU.
