Around eight surgeons from various parts\u00a0of the country took part in the program which aimed at disseminating the latest information on GI surgical techniques. A team of four doctors including\u00a0Surgical Oncologist\u00a0<strong>Dr. Sujai Hegde<\/strong>, \u00a0Surgical Gastroenterologist\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Dr. Vidyachandra Gandhi\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0, Robotic Surgeon\u00a0<strong>Dr. Aditya Kulkarni<\/strong>\u00a0and Laparoscopic Surgeon\u00a0<strong>Dr. Shailesh Naik<\/strong>\u00a0performed six surgeries including open , laparoscopic and robotic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senior Surgical Oncologist<strong>&nbsp;Dr Sujai Hegde<\/strong>&nbsp;(Chairman GI Services) said that these kinds of surgical workshops are the need of the hour. We are planning to host these types of surgical workshops more frequently in the near future.&nbsp; We believe that development&nbsp;of skills should be a dynamic phenomenon for surgeons.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dr Aditya&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>Kulkarni<\/strong>&nbsp; GI Oncologist and Robotic Surgeon&nbsp;&nbsp;said that Ruby Hall Clinic is a centre of excellence for GI surgeries with a high volume of complicated surgeries being performed regularly. The aim of the workshop was to disseminate the knowledge of advanced surgical procedures to surgeons from all over the country, where they can see how these surgeries are performed , the protocols being followed etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gastrointestinal&nbsp;&amp; HPB Surgeon&nbsp;<strong>Dr. Vidyachandra Gandh<\/strong>i informed that the surgeries which were demonstrated included&nbsp; Total peritonectomy with HIPEC, laparoscopic right hemicolectomy, laparoscopic anterior resection, robotic rectopexy, laparoscopic low anterior resection and radical distal pancreatectomy with splenectomy (RAMPS).
