Building resilient workplaces and communities requires collaboration between the police, security professionals, technology experts, organisations and citizens. By combining technology with human intelligence and a people-centric approach, we can build safer, smarter and more resilient workplaces and communities,\u201d said Sanjay Darade, Joint Commissioner of Police, Pune.<\/p>\n<p>He addressed the gathering at the PSP-ASIS Connect Conclave organised by Pune Security Professionals (PSP) in association with ASIS International, Pune Chapter. The conclave was held at Amanora The Fern, Series by Marriott, on the theme \u2018Security Resilience Through Collaboration\u2019. The event brought together professionals from security, risk management, government and technology sectors to discuss emerging security challenges and strategies for building resilient organisations.<\/p>\n<p>Founder of Pune Security Professionals, Mangesh Kate, who brings 26 years of expertise, including two decades leading Protective Security operations at HSBC, and Sunil Beedlam, the Director of Loss Prevention at Marriott International (The Ritz-Carlton, Pune &amp; Ventive Hospitality Ltd), along with committee members Lloyds Das, Jyoti Meena and Shekhar Mehta, were present at the conclave.<\/p>\n<p>A key session at the conclave was a panel discussion on \u2018The Smart Office Ecosystem: Integrating Security into Workplace Experience\u2019. The discussion focused on combining people, technology, security and intelligence to create safer and smarter workplaces. Experts also discussed the growing role of artificial intelligence, IoT, automation, data analytics, predictive intelligence and smart infrastructure in strengthening physical, cyber and operational security.<\/p>\n<p>The panel was moderated by Ambarish Purohit, an ASIS Triple Crown-certified security professional associated with bp. The panelists were Rajat Kabdal, Senior Security Specialist, CrowdStrike; Dipesh Gangrade, Principal HRBP, WorldEmp; Gini Thukral, Head \u2013 Crisis Management &amp; Resilience, India, Barclays; Shailesh Kumar, Vice President, SIS Group; and Harish Kurup, Regional Security Head, Capgemini.<\/p>\n<p>Eight police personnel were felicitated for outstanding work in crime detection, investigation, prevention and specialised policing. Assistant Police Inspector Umesh Karke and Police Head Constable Nitin Mundhe were recognised for detecting nine house-breaking cases and recovering property worth approximately \u20b937 lakh after arresting four accused. Police Constable Dnyaneshwar Mahadev Chitte was recognised for seizing three illegally manufactured country-made firearms and arresting the accused, while Police Sub-Inspector Santosh Bhandavalkar was honoured for arresting 22 accused in 14 cases involving murder, attempt to murder, theft, house-breaking and illegal weapons, with property worth approximately \u20b930 lakh recovered.<\/p>\n<p>Police Constable Vijay Keshav Khilari was recognised for surveillance and preventive policing, including action under MCOCA, MPDA, externment and breach-of-bond provisions. Police Head Constable Sandeep Thavar Rathod was honoured for technical investigation using CDR, MDAT and CCTV analysis, which helped detect eight crimes and secure the release of a kidnapping victim within six hours. Assistant Police Inspector Amit Shete was recognised for investigation work leading to the arrest of three accused and recovery of country-made pistols, magazines and live rounds. Assistant Police Inspector Shrikant Chavan was honoured for an anti-extortion operation that led to the arrest of accused linked to the Bishnoi gang from Rajasthan and recovery of three pistols, three magazines and 40 rounds.<\/p>\n<p>The Journey of Excellence Award was presented to Rahul Sharma, Security Manager, KOPA Mall, Lakeshore India Pvt Ltd, Pune, for his more than 21 years of experience in security leadership and contribution to creating safe, resilient and people-centric workplaces. Pramod Ahire, Corporate Director \u2013 Risk Management &amp; Security, Taj Hotels, Centre Mumbai, was also recognized for his inspiring career journey from a security guard to a senior security leadership position.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Onkar Sharma, former Chief Labour Commissioner, Government of India, delivered the keynote address on labour reforms, covering labour administration, industrial relations, compliance, social security, occupational safety, and working conditions. The conclave also featured presentations by sponsors and partners, followed by the Excellence in Police Service Awards 2025-26 and the Journey of Excellence Awards.<\/p>\n<p>The conclave concluded with networking and knowledge exchange among security professionals and industry stakeholders.
