In separate programs Noble Hospitals felicitated organ donors and organ transplant recipients who have been given a new lease of life, and the families whose selfless act of organ donation has set an inspiring example for society.The programme was a humble expression of gratitude and tribute to the selfless courage of organ donors and the determination of those who have received a new lease of life through organ transplantation.<\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Aarti Gokhale,\u00a0Central Coordinator, ZTCC Pune, was the guest of honour . Dr. Dilip Mane, Chairman and Managing Director, Noble Hospitals; Dr. Divij Mane, Deputy Managing Director; Dr. Sanjay Pathare, Group Chief Executive Officer; senior management members, staff and other dignitaries were present on the occasion .<\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">The families of organ donors expressed a deep sense of satisfaction knowing that their loved ones continue to live on through the lives of others. They said that this thought reaffirmed their belief that the decision to donate their loved one\u2019s organs was the right one\u2014turning their personal loss into hope and giving the gift of life to others.<\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Aarti Gokhale,\u00a0<\/span>Central Coordinator, ZTCC Pune\u00a0\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u00a0said, \u201cWe have come a long way since\u00a0 12 April 1997, when Pune witnessed its first organ donation, which was also the second such donation in Maharashtra at the time. At that time it took a lot of effort to explain what brain death is to the family members. However, a significant gap still remains between the number of patients waiting for organs and the availability of donated organs. Greater awareness and understanding of organ donation are essential to bridge this gap.\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u201cOrgan donation is one of the most profound acts of humanity where even in a moment of immense personal loss, one family can give hope and life to many others. At Noble Hospitals, our vision goes beyond performing successful transplants. We are committed to creating large-scale awareness about organ donation, encouraging more families to come forward, and building a strong, comprehensive organ transplant programme. We want Noble Hospitals to play a leading role in strengthening the organ donation movement and ensuring that more patients waiting for an organ receive their second chance at life,\u201d said Dr. Dilip Mane, Chairman and Managing Director, Noble Hospitals and Research Centre.<\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Dr.Sanjay Pathare, Group Executive Officer, Noble Hospitals and Research Centre said that transplant is a near miracle in the field of medical science .\u00a0 However today the organ donation rate in India is a dismal less than 1 per million population (ppm). This is because there are still a lot of myths related to organ donation. Therefore, creating awareness is all the more crucial.<\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">The program featured a silent mime performance &#8216; Gift that lives on&#8217; creating awareness about the importance of organ donation and winning hearts of all those present . The performance was presented by nurses and staff members of Noble Hospital. This was followed by an organ donation pledge .\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Medical social worker- Mahesh Tupe was also felicitated on the occasion.
