The session led by senior CFA Institute delegates &#8211;\u00a0<strong>Whitney Coggeshal, Director of Product Management<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Anne Falhgreen, Senior Head \u2013 CFA\u00ae Program<\/strong>\u00a0served as a platform for meaningful exchange on how finance education can better equip students for a rapidly changing professional landscape.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Discussions revolved around CFA Institute\u2019s\u00a0<strong>skills-based learning initiative<\/strong>, a transformational approach aimed at offering learning and assessments that reflect real\u2011world tasks and employer expectations. The initiative is designed to respond to the increasing demand for job\u2011ready talent, improve learning outcomes, and ensure ongoing relevance to the investment industry.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Participants explored the\u00a0<strong>shift toward skills\u2011first hiring and continuous upskilling<\/strong>, with insights highlighting that employers are placing greater emphasis on demonstrable, practical competencies and real\u2011world application over purely theoretical knowledge. The dialogue also addressed emerging trends such as micro\u2011credentialing, applied learning models, and the growing integration of technology and AI in finance careers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The session further highlighted how the CFA Program continues to evolve to balance\u00a0<strong>innovation with credential integrity<\/strong>, incorporating practical skills modules, applied assessments, and flexible learning formats while maintaining globally consistent standards and rigor.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Speaking on the significance of the roundtable,\u00a0<strong>Saim Fakih, Manager, University Relations \u2013 India, CFA Institute<\/strong>, said,\u00a0<em>\u201cThis marked our very first All\u2011India University Roundtable, reflecting our commitment to building stronger national engagement with academia and aligning finance education more closely with industry needs. By advancing skills\u2011based learning within globally recognised programs like the CFA Program, we aim to help students develop practical capabilities, ethical judgement, and the adaptability required for careers in modern finance.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Dr. Nilesh Arora, Executive Director \u2013 Management, Chandigarh University<\/strong>\u00a0commented,\u00a0<em>\u201cHearing directly from CFA Program\u2019s curriculum architects reaffirmed what we owe our students &#8211; not just theory, but the skills that markets actually demand. As a professor, I often wonder if what we teach truly prepares students for the real world and this roundtable gave me both the answers and the tools to do better.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>\u201cThe presentations on industry expectations that shape the CFA curriculum were truly interesting and very\u00a0informative.
