Pune (Voice news service):- The Agrawal Marwadi Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Education (AMCCIE) has expressed serious concern over the impact of rapidly advancing Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation technologies on employment, affecting lakhs of people across India and globally.
\nNational President Rajesh Agarwal stated that while technological advancement is inevitable, the resulting imbalance in employment is emerging as a significant social and economic challenge.
\nHe said, \u201cWith the rise of AI and new technologies, traditional jobs are declining, impacting a large number of people. This is not just an economic issue, but also a matter of social stability.\u201d
\nHowever, he emphasized that every technological transformation also brings new opportunities. \u201cAI does not eliminate jobs, but changes the nature of work. It is crucial that we prepare our workforce for the future through reskilling and upskilling,\u201d he added.
\nRajesh Agarwal highlighted the need for strong coordination between industry, government, and educational institutions. He stressed that under a long-term strategy, youth and workers must be trained in line with emerging technologies. He also noted that the MSME sector must adopt digital and AI-driven technologies to enhance competitiveness and generate new employment opportunities.
\nHe specifically urged the Central and State Governments to take concrete and effective steps in this direction:
\nLaunch large-scale skill development and reskilling missions Establish dedicated institutions and programs for AI and digital technology training Provide financial support, tax benefits, and technical assistance to MSMEs and startups
\nImplement transition support and social security schemes for those affected by job losses Offer incentives to industries for generating more employment.
\nHe further stated that if both Central and State Governments adopt timely, coordinated, and forward-looking policies, this challenge can be transformed into a major opportunity.
\nIn conclusion, he said, \u201cThe need of the hour is not to fear technology, but to understand, adopt, and move forward with it.
