Through this festival, we want people to see literature not just as words on a page, but as a force that shapes lives, perspectives, and communities,\u201d Vaibhav Paliwal, Founder, Paalvia Foundation<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>Social Spaces as Literary Venues<\/h2>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pune\u2019s World Book Day 2026 stands out for its strong emphasis on\u00a0<strong>inclusion and community engagement<\/strong>. By collaborating with diverse communities, the festival makes literature more accessible, participatory, and meaningful.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Key venues include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Akshar Paaul \u2013 Smiling Library Initiative:\u00a0<\/strong>Serving children of construction workers and underserved communities, the initiative runs 16 libraries reaching over 1,000 children\u2014nurturing reading, creativity, and confidence. Experiences will be hosted at their Hadapsar and Warje centres.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Balgram SOS Children\u2019s Villages:\u00a0<\/strong>Supporting children without parental care for over four decades, Balgram focuses on holistic development. With 5 Children\u2019s Villages and 27 Balsadan &amp; hostels, it reaches over 1,000 children annually. Experiences will be held at their Yerwada centre.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Purnkuti<\/strong>: Working with women, children, transgender individuals, and marginalized communities, Purnkuti supports over 200 children through education and 4,000+ women through livelihood programs.
