The project is expected to achieve approximately 1.7 Lakh carbon credits over a 10-year crediting period from FY 2023-24 to FY 2032-33, by shifting vehicle dispatches from road to rail, an efficient and sustainable mode of vehicle transport.<\/p>\n
The emission reduction has been quantified under the AM0090 methodology prescribed under Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC). Following independent verification of carbon emission saving, Verra will issue 1.7 Lakh carbon credits to Maruti Suzuki under its VCS program.<\/p>\n

Leveraging the inherent efficiency of rail transport, the Gujarat in-plant railway siding has significantly reduced the carbon footprint of our logistics operations, while also easing road congestion and lowering overall fossil fuel consumption.
