Pune (Voice news service):- After impactful showcases across Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, the SSII MantraM \u2018Made-in-India\u2019 Surgical Robot Yatra commenced its Maharashtra chapter with a successful Day 1 at\u00a0Cloud 9 Hospital, Pimple Saudagar, Pune.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program began with a hands-on workshop led by Dr. Bijendra Sinha- Laparoscopic, General & Bariatric surgeon (Cloud 9, Delhi) and Dr. K.S. Harinath, Gynaecologist and Laparoscopic Surgeon (Cloud 9, Bangalore), offering doctors and surgeons an in-depth experience of the Mantra 3 surgical robotic platform. Participants explored the system\u2019s advanced features and how robotic assistance is shaping the future of surgical precision, safety, and accessibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workshop was followed by a corporate presentation by SSII, highlighting how the \u2018Made-in-India\u2019 Mantra 3 system is making robotic surgery more affordable, accessible, and advanced. After the successful showcase at Cloud 9 Hospital, Pune, the SSII MantraM \u2018Made-in-India\u2019 Surgical Robot Yatra moved to Manipal Hospital, Pune<\/strong>. As part of this leg, SSII conducted a Continuing Medical Education (CME) program, featuring a panel discussion on \u201cRobotic Technology for Better Surgical Outcomes.\u201d The session highlighted how the SSI Mantra 3.0 surgical robot is redefining healthcare by bringing greater precision, wider accessibility, and enhanced affordability to surgical care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event saw enthusiastic participation from surgeons, medical students, and hospital staff, who engaged in live demonstrations, interactive sessions, and discussions on the future of robotic surgery in India. Following Pune, the MantraM Yatra will now move to Mumbai, with its next showcase at MGM Hospital, Kamothe, Panvel, Navi Mumbai.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

With Maharashtra being a hub of advanced medical institutions, the Yatra\u2019s launch here marks another important milestone in its nationwide journey. In the coming days, the MantraM unit will travel across leading hospitals and academic institutions in the state, continuing its mission to redefine surgical care through world-class, indigenous innovation. Across its journey, the Yatra will cover over 1000+ km, engage more than 500 healthcare professionals, and provide immersive training in robotic surgery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Built on a BharatBenz 1824 chassis, the  MantraM unit weighs 18,500 kg and measures 11.9m (L) x 2.59m (W) x 3.49m (H). The fully modified vehicle, excluding the robotic system, costs approximately INR 1.3 Crores. The bus has been custom-engineered by SSII, featuring a reinforced base, actuator-based patient-side carts, and locking systems to ensure stability and calibration of the robotic arms. Its expandable cabin provides adequate space for surgical teams, while air suspension, air conditioning (maintained at 21\u00b0C \u00b1 3\u00b0C and 55% RH), and EMI\/EMC compliance protect the sensitive electronics and maintain surgical integrity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Designed for remote and underserved areas, MantraM includes backup power systems (5 kVA onboard generators, external compatibility), high-speed telecom infrastructure, and research-backed satellite connectivity for future-ready telesurgery. A 380-litre fuel tank supports long-distance travel. The unit also includes a dedicated driver\u2019s cabin, multiple access points, and a special ramp for safe equipment movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, MantraM is a testament to SSII unwavering commitment to revolutionising healthcare through innovation and precision engineering. By continuously advancing its capabilities, SSII is redefining the possibilities of healthcare.
