{"id":17730,"date":"2024-08-31T22:16:08","date_gmt":"2024-08-31T16:46:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesofpowerandvoice.com\/?p=17730"},"modified":"2024-08-31T22:16:10","modified_gmt":"2024-08-31T16:46:10","slug":"students-tackle-global-dilemmas-at-the-lexicon-mun-2024-celebrating-thoughtful-debates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesofpowerandvoice.com\/?p=17730","title":{"rendered":"Students Tackle Global Dilemmas at The Lexicon MUN 2024, Celebrating Thoughtful Debates"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Pune: The Lexicon International School, Wagholi, proudly hosted The Lexicon MUN 2024 on August 9th and 10th, in collaboration with SkillSphere under the thought-provoking theme, &#8220;Determining the Concept of Right and Wrong in a Global Context.&#8221; The event saw enthusiastic participation from 195 students across 13 prominent schools, including Akshara International School, The Bishop&#8217;s Co-ed School, Kalyaninagar, Elpro International School, Podar International School, Chakan Ambethan, St. Arnold&#8217;s Central School, The HDFC School, SNBP International School, The Orbis School, VIBGYOR High School, Vikhe Patil Memorial School, The Lexicon International School (Kalyaninagar and Wagholi), and The Lexicon School, Hadapsar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr. Pankaj Sharma, President, The Lexicon Group of Institutes, emphasized the value of such events, stating, &#8220;The Lexicon MUN is an academic exercise; it is a platform for students to critically engage with global issues, enhancing their understanding of complex international relations. These experiences are invaluable in shaping tomorrow&#8217;s leaders who can think critically and act responsibly in a global society.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The two-day event was designed to encourage students to delve into critical global issues through debates and discussions across six committees: United Nations Security Council (UNSC), United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), United Nations &#8211; Water, and United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
