The event, which was planned on the theme of the World Solar Challenge covered 350+ km in three days from Galgotias University, Greater Noida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;solar vehicle championship&nbsp;created awareness and promoted the adoption of electric vehicles, upskilling, road safety and the use of renewable energy.&nbsp;Over&nbsp;1500 engineering graduates from&nbsp;more than&nbsp;25&nbsp;leading institutions and 18&nbsp;states were upskilled in the event. The students showcased their self-designed and manufactured solar vehicles in an on-road rally, covering over 350 km in three days, starting from&nbsp;Galgotias University, Greater Noida&nbsp;to Agra.&nbsp;Vidyavardhini College of Engineering (Mumbai), Sinhgad College of Engineering (Pune) and Pimri Chinchwad College of Engineering (Pune) emerged as the&nbsp;winner, runner-up and second runner-up of the challenge respectively.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The opening ceremony for the event was held on 14 April in the presence of Shri. Dhruv Galgotia (CEO, Galgotias University), Mr. Vinod Gupta (President, ISIEINDIA), Prof. Prakash Joshi (Founder and Joint Managing Trustee, MIT Group of Institutions), Dr. K. C. Vora (Emeritus Professor, COEP Technical University), Mr. Praveen Kumar (Sr. HR Officer), Mr. Amit Singh (Customer Succes Manager, Altair Engineering), Mr. Akshay Kumar (Head Business Development, E Fill Electric and Charging Solution) and other industry and academic delegates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, the event&nbsp;established a significant impact in areas pertaining to electric vehicles through rally, providing a platform for students across India to learn and improve their skills in new technologies and renewable energy, promoting e-mobility and green energy. The rally also enabled budding engineers to grapple with real-life applications and improve their skills related to design, analysis and problem solving besides enhancing their interpersonal skills and self-confidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sanjeeva Singh, Executive Vice President, NSDC and CFO, NSDC International&nbsp;<\/strong>said, \u201c<em>India has already made remarkable strides towards achieving its climate change goals. Also, the Union Budget 2023-2024 highlighted the importance of Green Growth as one of the government\u2019s seven priorities and taking forward this ambitious vision, NSDC is committed towards building capabilities in India\u2019s sunrise sectors and renewable energy sector. It is my firm belief that India\u2019s first solar car rally\u2014 Electric Solar Vehicle Championship\u2013 3000 will continue to lay a robust foundation in climate justice and will augment a solid understanding for green jobs in India.
