SBI Pensioners’ Association Celebrates Golden Jubilee Anniversary

Pune: “The next five years will be crucial in achieving the goal of a developed India, and the banking sector, along with the State Bank of India, will play a pivotal role,” said Binodkumar Mishra, Deputy Managing Director (Human Resource Development) of the State Bank of India.

Mishra was speaking as the chief guest at the golden jubilee anniversary of the State Bank of India Pensioners’ Association (Mumbai Metro and Maharashtra Circles) in Pune. Vilas Gandhe, former General Secretary of the SBI Pensioners’ Association, was honored with the ‘L. N. Pablakar Memorial Gold Medal.’

The event, held at Mahalaxmi Lawns, was attended by Arvind Kumar Singh, Chief General Manager of the Maharashtra Circle; Harishkumar Rajpal, Deputy General Manager; Amit Jog, Deputy General Manager of Mumbai Metro Circle; Satishkumar, Deputy General Manager of Pune Division; Pankajkumar Barnwal, Deputy General Manager of Kolhapur Division; G. K. Gandhi, President of the Federation; D. K. Basu, Secretary; Pradeep Deshpande, President of the Association; and Sudhir Pawar, Secretary, among others.

Binodkumar Mishra further stated, “The State Bank has played a significant role in the nation’s economic progress. In 1999, during the first phase of economic liberalization, the bank’s profit was ₹85 crore, which has since multiplied several thousand times. The contributions of retired employees have been invaluable in this growth. Their hard work, dedication, and loyalty have propelled the bank to new heights, and the bank is fully aware of their efforts.”

“After retirement, maintaining good health should be a top priority. The State Bank always takes a positive approach to the health of its retired employees. Continuous improvements are being made to the pension scheme, and retired employees should make the most of the insurance plan. Efforts should also be made to introduce the e-pharmacy option and strengthen healthcare facilities for retirees across the state,” Mishra added.

Arvind Kumar Singh, G. K. Gandhi, and Pankajkumar Barnwal also shared their thoughts during the event. Sudhir Pawar raised a few concerns in his welcome address. The event was hosted by Vasudha Dongre and Sandra Pore, with Pradeep Deshpande giving the vote of thanks.
